This policy explains what Image Compressor (“the app”) does with your data. The app is published by Aurevix. If anything here is unclear, email aurevixlabsapp@gmail.com.
Your photos
Image Compressor reads the photos you explicitly choose (through the Android photo picker, or by sharing an image to the app) and compresses them entirely on your device, using your device's own image codecs.
- Your photos are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
- Your original files are never modified or deleted. Compressed copies are written as new files, and only when you tap Save or Share.
- We do not have, and cannot get, access to your photo library.
Photo metadata (EXIF and GPS)
Photos can contain embedded metadata such as camera details and GPS coordinates. By default the app removes this metadata from the compressed copy. You can choose to keep it with the “Remove metadata” switch in Settings. Either way, this happens only on your device — metadata is never transmitted anywhere by the app.
What is collected
The app itself has no accounts and no servers. It does include Google SDKs that collect limited data, as follows:
| Source | What it collects | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Advertising ID and standard ad-request data (approximate device/locale info, ad interactions). | To show ads, which keep the app free. |
| Firebase Analytics | Anonymous usage events — screens opened, how many images were compressed, which quality/target setting was used, how many bytes were saved. | To understand which features get used. |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash and error reports, with device model and OS version. | To find and fix bugs. |
No image content, filename, or file path is ever included in analytics events or crash reports.
Who receives data
The data above is processed by Google as our service provider, under Google's own privacy terms: Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses AdMob data. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.
Your choices
- Ads personalisation: where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and certain US states) the app shows a consent prompt on first launch, and you can change your choice later from that prompt.
- Advertising ID: you can reset or delete it in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- Permissions: photo access and gallery-save access can be revoked at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Image Compressor → Permissions. The app only requests them when you pick or save an image.
- Remove everything: uninstalling the app removes all of its local data, including its cache of compressed copies. Compressed photos you already saved stay in your gallery, and you can delete them there.
Permissions the app requests
- Photos / media access — to read the images you select and to save compressed copies to your gallery.
- Internet — to load ads and send anonymous analytics/crash reports. Compression itself works offline.
- Vibration — for the optional haptic buzz when a run finishes.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
